What Does a Skills Bootcamp Involve?

Skills Bootcamps, part of the Government’s Lifetime Skills Guarantee, help adults quickly develop in-demand skills and move into employment or better-paid roles. Offered in partnership with local employers and training providers, they address real skills shortages and create career opportunities across East Sussex and beyond.

What you'll learn

This course will focus on key areas including:

  • Principles of Communication
  • Principles of Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion
  • Principles of Safeguarding and Protection
  • Principles for Implementing Duty of Care
  • Understanding the Role of the Social Care Worker

Who Is Eligible to Apply

You can apply if you:

  • Are aged 19 or over
  • Live in East Sussex or the surrounding area
  • If you are unemployed or employed but ready for career change there is no cost
  • Can commit to attending training over several weeks
  • Have a keen interest in working in health or social care
  • No prior experience is required – just enthusiasm and a willingness to learn!

Program Information

  • Location: East Sussex (blended learning options available)
  • Duration: 4 to 6 weeks ( 3 days in a week )
  • Cost: FREE for eligible learners, funded by East Sussex County Council and the Department for Education
  • Start Dates: Rolling enrolment throughout the year
